How to keep bananas fresh for a longer period of time

Bananas may be kept in the kitchen, but if you typically leave them out on the counter, be mindful that they may get too warm.

You may have heard that you shouldn't put bananas in the refrigerator to keep them fresh, but this is not true. However, there are a handful of cautions.

Because the slices are exposed to the air after you've cut bananas for a meal and have some left over, they will turn brown.

Sprinkle the slices with lemon, lime, or pineapple juice to keep them looking appetizing.

By puréeing the flesh or chopping it into slices and freezing it, you can keep bananas for longer.

Remove the skin and purée it before freezing in an ice cube tray. Alternatively, cut slices and place them on a tray to freeze.
