Is It Possible for Me to Flex My Way to Bigger Muscles?

In certain ways, yes. Flexing, on the other hand, rates near the bottom of a 1-to-10 muscle-building efficiency scale.

Interestingly, despite everything I've written so far, the best proof of flexing as a muscle builder comes from untrained people.

For example, in a 2013 study, people who had never participated in any type of weight-training program were given three flexing-based workouts per week for 12 weeks.

They saw small increases in muscle growth and thickness on average when compared to the control group, which did no resistance training at all.

In actuality, however, this isn't all that shocking. What the study doesn't provide is a comparison of the training results of those who simply flexed their muscles

People who have never trained with weights or other forms of resistance before will typically gain one pound of muscle each month once they start doing so.
