Recipe: Quick and easy salmon Burgers

Not only are these salmon patties tasty, but they are also full of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids. Make them ahead of time and put them in the fridge until it’s time to cook. (Are you going to grill? First, freeze the salmon patties for 20 to 30 minutes. This will make them stay together better.)

Ingredients

2 pounds fresh salmon fillets, skinned

1/2 cup green onions chopped

1/2 tsp. of chopped garlic

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon dried leaves from dill weed

To taste, salt and pepper

1 egg

1 white egg

2 cups crisp rice cereal

Directions

  1. Cut the salmon into small pieces with a knife or a food processor.
  2. Salmon, green onions, garlic, lemon juice, and dill are mixed together in a large bowl. How do you like it?
  3. Whisk the egg and egg white together in a separate bowl, then add them to the salmon mixture.
  4. Mix the salmon mixture and cereal gently with your hands (the mixture will be loose). Make burgers out of the mixture.
  5. Over medium heat, heat a large nonstick skillet that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Cook each side for 3–4 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Serve with the sauces you like.
